Greeting to all of our OBDSFL member clubs! The committee would like to give you an update in terms of what has been going on behind the scenes to ensure a smooth running of the league. One of the biggest challenges that Grassroots football in general has been facing is a shortage of referees. This is due to a number of factors…but one of the biggest has been the increase in referee abuse. As a RESPECT league, we want to ensure that our clubs are reminded of their responsibilities in this matter, and let’s make sure that we are not contributing to the alarming decline of referees. If you have any challenges or concerns about a referee, then please ensure you raise this via the appropriate channels.
Another thing to remind our clubs of is that we are looking at expanding our competition to include Women’s teams as well and so if your club is interested in bringing a Women’s team to the OBDSFL, then please contact our Women’s Development Football Officer, Kat Chick, ([email protected]) for more information.
Finally, we are launching a gallery section on the website and so if you are happy to share images from your games over the coming weekends, then please email the Club Liaison Secretary, Babs Ojo, ([email protected]) with the pictures from your games.
