The first game on Cup Final Monday at Bromley Fc saw Hatcham Beckenham Manor taking on Hayes and Pickhurst. In a competitive game, Hayes took the lead just before half time with Kaiyo Peeke running onto a ball over the top after outpacing Hopper and slotting home. The 2nd half saw Manor control possession looking for the opening. The equaliser eventually came after 65 mins with Beckford lobbing the keeper after running onto a ball over the top. Neither team managed to win the game in the 90 and so we went to extra time. Fatigue was starting to become a factor and but Hayes had two glorious opportunities to retake the lead but Manor keeper and Man of the Match Edwards denied Peeke both times in one on one situations. And they proved to be match winning contributions as on the stroke of half time in extra time, Harvey Hanifan headed home. We had a stoppage in the 2nd half of extra time as the referee picked up an injury but the 4th official stepped in to see out the remaining 8 mins. On 118 min, Jamal Ossai put the gloss on the score line after latching onto a through ball and finishing. Final score 3-1 to Hatcham Beckenham Manor.
Congratulations to them and commiserations to Hayes and Pickhurst who gave a great account of themselves. Highlights of the game can be found on our YouTube channel here – https://youtu.be/D6ZgWjhCOJo
