Our 2nd final of the day saw FC Bickley take on The Wall for the Paul Picard Cup. The game started off in a physical manner with both teams giving away plenty of fouls and yellow cards being shown. The game then sparked into life with Jordy Greaves for Bickley looking lively and causing problems for the opposition. However the game lacked any efforts on goal to test the keepers but in the 33rd min Jordan Samuels broke the deadlock for Bickley after an error from The Wall keeper from 25 yards. The Wall looked to hit back straight away and Zepo was growing into the game and causing the Bickley defence lots of trouble. However the half ended 1-0 to Bickley. 2nd half and The Wall started to take control of possession with Quan becoming influential. After 58 mins The Wall equalised through Zepo who volleyed in after a corner. The Wall continued to press and dominate the ball and scored their 2nd of the game via Zepo again who battles with the Bickley defence on the edge of the box, comes away with ball and slots the ball in. Joe Plant for Bickley fashioned a couple of opportunities for his team but they were unable to find a way back in. Final Score 2-1 to The Wall. Man of the Match was Bryan Zepo.
Congratulations to them and commiserations to FC Bickley who showed their pedigree but just came up short. Highlights of the game can be found on our YouTube channel here – https://youtu.be/9bg8-C6c1LA
